PARENT volunteers

Parents are encouraged to volunteer in their child’s classroom. Volunteering is a great opportunity to work with your child’s teacher and support your child’s education.

Please see below volunteer procedure and requirement:

❖    A Volunteer Application can be obtained from the preschool office, your child’s teacher, or from the preschool website.

❖    The application must be completed and submitted to the program director.

❖    Provide a negative TB test or an XRAY (within a year).

❖    Must be immunized with the following: Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza (Flu shot/Opt-out option available). (Please note: Tdap & MMR, many of us have these vaccines already).

❖    Background check/fingerprinting Live Scan will be conducted by the District Office/ Human Resources Department at no cost for parents

❖    Must have a California ID or an ID outside of the US.

❖    Must sign the volunteer application, provide the immunization record (with the required vaccinations), bring required ID, and contact the Preschool office for an appointment to begin the volunteering process.

❖    All requirements are necessary, and clearance must be met prior to you beginning to volunteer.

Parent/Volunteers will be provided an orientation prior to beginning volunteer service.

Parent conferences are held twice a year to share your child's strengths from the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) child assessment and the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ). We regularly host parent education workshops through our Family University Parent Engagement program, and we encourage you to get involved and join our Parent Advisory Committee.
